No More Naughty Curry?

Today I found out that my very favorite cooking website, Naughty Curry, has finally lapsed into oblivion. They had stopped updating a while back, but as the archives (and more importantly, the recipe list!) was still up, I didn't think to copy the lovely, spicy morsels of information into my own recipe box.

Today I went to look up their recipe for Madras Shrimp, thinking to make the sauce and serve it over some chicken and rice for a houseguest I've got this weekend, and horror of horrors! The website was finally gone.

So after a little light flickr-stalking I hopped on over to the Wayback Machine, and lo and behold! The Madras Shrimp recipe was mine once more.

So after lunch today, with the continued aid of the Internet Archive, I will be spending my evening copying over every recipe of theirs I can into my personal recipe boxes, into Google Docs, and saving them as word files on my computer to boot. I urge you all to do the same. These recipes are too good to be allowed to float off mindlessly into the ether. So go, please, and cook up something spicy for someone you love.

Hi,
I'd realy like to see some of those naughty curry recipies.. I only heard about the site after it died.. can yo make a few available?
I could set up a website to display them if you have a lot of them.
Thanks

Do you still have these stored anywhere? I can't pull them from the way back machine anymore and am dying to get the recipe for the indian styled jalapeno poppers...thanks!

I have a lot of them stored, but the one that I really want is the Cheezy-Lime Chicken Chili. If anyone happened to save or print or memorize that recipe, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have it.

The original site had their work under Creative Commons and allowed for reprinting, so I could begin putting what I have online and get other people to contribute what they have too.

I think the Jalapeno Poppers came after I took a break from saving the recipes, but I will look for it.

Do you have any of the recipes stored publicly?
I would like a link to the recipes, never realized that I'd come hunting back for the recipes, should have stored them when I had a chance, Alas Procrastination got the better of me.
especially the madras shrimp, curry spiced avocado butter and the cheap ass curry spiced chicken.
I had these bookmarked not realizing that the site would go away.
Courtney can you hear us...!

I don't have them posted publicly yet, but I would like to make some sort of space for them on a website I am working on.

Currently, I just have them in a very large PDF. Back when the site was still operational, I had a single-printing cookbook made so I could have the recipes in the kitchen (I don't have a laptop). However, I only have what had been published at that point.

I think the recipes you are looking for may be newer than the ones that I have. Feel free to page through the pdf here.

Thanks a lot for the PDF. I will go through the recipes. Possibly try a few other friends who use to follow naughty curry and see if they have any of the recipes. If I do get any recipes will combine them and post a link here.

Done and done. I have created a space and filled it with the recipes that I have. I included the full posts because I think the story of the recipe creation is part of the Naughty Curry magic.

You can find my collection here: http://www.imposterpockets.com/naughty_curry, though it is incomplete. I have linked to the flickr photos that I could find.

If you have other recipes (such as this Madras Shrimp that everyone keeps discussing and making me long to test out), I would love to include them. Contact info on my site.

Hi, I'm one of the original Naughty Curry ladies. I used to stop by Cor's place to serve as her willing recipe guinea pig. I miss her and her amazing food. This post makes me so nostalgic for Naughty Curry. I was totally heartbroken when she ended the project with little warning. Last time we spoke, she was jazzed about NC aprons. Alas, that was the last I ever heard of her. Thank you so so much for still caring about the project! It was her life and passion.

So did anyone ever find the jalapeƱo popper recipe? I'm disappointed that NC went down and that the archives have disappeared.

Many thanks to imposterpockets for saving as much as you did!

I just discovered naughty curry--thank you so much for the pdf! I can't wait to try some of these recipes. So sad that the project ended and the recipes went away with that.
